Around 17 he decided to start pursuing his career by taking geometry, physics and a class in technical engineering. By the time he got his bachelor's degree and started meeting new friends in his technical engineering class and did non-school related projects. By the time he finished up to earn his master's he met a girl named Jane in his physics class and they had grown a strong relationship with each other.     May 21st 2010, 2 hours before graduation: Jared is at home getting ready for graduation from University of California, San Francisco. He just earned his master's degree in mechanical and industrial engineering having his main focus on becoming a CEO of a building company in California. During a year or two after he graduated, he settled down with a family of two children and his wife (Jane) . He was starting to have unsure questions whether he should join the Navy and become a mechanical engineer or continue his dream career but little did he know that question would be answered soon.     December 19th, 2015: Jared was out buy gifts for christmas, his children now 5 years of age are frantic about christmas themsevles. Two day's later, the Portal Storms raged across the Earth, spreading Xen life forms causing the people to move into cities for protection. These portal storms attracted an alien empire known as the Combine that defeated all armed forces of all nations on Earth in only seven hours. It was after this that Dr. Wallace Breen negotiated a surrender on behalf of the United Nations, "saving" the survivors at the cost of their freedom. Breen was appointed ruler of Earth, but remains under the control of the Combine. The official surrender appears to have taken place in New York City, in the United Nations building. Everyone and everything Jared had. . . was gone.     May 17th, 2016: Jared is now settled down in Terminal hotel in City 17 Industrial zone. Strolling around he saw a sign up board with a unit next to it, second guessing himself he questions "What do I have to lose now?". One of the few reasons he signed up is because he admired the technology they had and see if he could contribute to the Combine as much as he could. Now he moves on . . awaiting his response he lives his normal life until then.

P2L is good, but the backstory, feels a bit, empty, might just be me though, my really only true complaint is that we only see this 2 hours before graduation part of the story, and nothing of his childhood or anything, so I'm going to neutral this for now, but if you maybe add a bit about his childhood or anything, I would be glad to +support it.
